Samsung’s much alleged Galaxy S IV is believed to have put in test via a benchmarking database, not once, but in two variants according to the reports.
Samsung being a south Korean company is fast becoming one of the most rumor-laden companies in the technology world, even competing with the likes of Apple when it comes to strong anticipation of any unannounced but highly anticipated hardware. Samsung’s smartphones are obviously in top of the pile when it comes to excitement for many, which that means the next Galaxy S phone will be going to prove to be a popular amongst the speculations.
Those days are gone when an upcoming Apple iPhone or iPad was the only device that would keep the tech world busy churning out rumors and speculations. Now, the Galaxy S IV comes out to the scene and is no different. With months still to pass before Samsung’s latest pearl finds its own way into your hands, claims and counter-claims are abound right now, with all kinds of weired and wonderful ideas touted as fact, often without a bunch of evidence amongst the rumormongers.
The latest one surfaced suggesting – that the Galaxy S IV will feature the much vaunted Exynos 5 Octa CPU – appears to have received a boost todya almost, with the news that two supposed Galaxy S IVs have found their way into the Antutu Benchmarks database. Both devices, one British and one Korean, are shown to sport a 1.8GHz CPU and appear to ship with Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean as standard (default OS). The model numbers of SHV-E300S (Korean) variant and GT-I9500 (British) also make sense when compared with the numbers assigned to previous Galaxy S handsets.
It was reported that the new Exynos 5 Octa CPU based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture introduced at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2013 in Las Vegas last week would likely to power Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Apparently, the Galaxy S IV is expected to arrive some time in the first six months of the year, and the smart money is on the device coming fitted with all manner of cutting edge features such as a 13-megapixel shooter.
The Galaxy S lineup is the best Samsung’s flagship Android smartphone and as such, the company likes to pack it choc full of all top-end kit. This year is not expected to be any different. Mots interesting thing to note here is the reported model number for the international variant of Galaxy S4 – “GT-I9500,” which corresponds to some earlier reports betting on the same code to be the handset’s model number.
Samsung’s Galaxy S III has proven to be a highly successful release for the company last year, with many calling it the best Android phone on the market. That’s what we agree with, so we can’t wait to see what Samsung has hidden in shelves with this new iteration. Stay tuned!
