According to the Windows Store explanation, Photo Studio Free is an ultimate app utilized by both amateur and professional photographers who seek a simple, but powerful image processing on the go. Windows 8 users can turn their devices into a fantastic photo editing studio that allows them to mix up with operations, adding clips and effects that this app has almost 26 wonderful and amazing filters and adjustable controls. Simple as this app’s welcome screen lets you browse for locally saved images, open the recently edited ones, or take new pictures with your webcam on your Windows 8 tablet’s camera. Wait! When you’ve chosen the webcam option for the first time, Windows will ask you whether you want to allow the app to access it or not.
Once you’re done importing or capturing any image, the app will take you directly to the image editor. At the bottom of the editing screen, you will find filters, Effects and image tweaks with Rotate, Crop, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Color and Resize options. From there you’re ready to get started with your photo editing on your Windows 8 PC.
Most interesting feature in Photo Studio is the Filter option, when selected, all the filters will be displayed with a preview of the image you’re editing on. Which saves you from the hassle of applying each filter to view its result. While Filters and Effects can also be applied one over another to produce some gestures results. Don’t like it, then you have the option to revert the changes that made to your photos by hitting the Undo History button in the bottom right corner of the Studio.
Other than adding filters and frames on Photo Studio, you can manually perform image correction by adjusting the Color (RGB) levels, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and Hue of the image. Once finished, tap the Save button at the top. If you want to, you can also re-size the images to different resolution presets depending on your choice. All in all, this Photo Studio is now available as a free of charge download on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 8 from the Microsoft’s official App Store.
