As you all know about Microsoft is working on its next-generation Xbox 360 gaming console, which rumored to call it the Xbox 720, or Xbox 8 and the device is expected to arrive some time in 2013 or 2014. When talking about game consoles from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony, everybody has something to say about the next wave releases. While the Wii U is still a mystery even though it’s launching later this year and about the next Xbox and PlayStation consoles we have more about to say, but the common aspect the three have in common is the absence of the release date.
Microsoft is reportedly working on its new Xbox and is going to launch in the next coming years, but this report that surfaced according to the Job adverts tipped that the next Xbox 720 will be launching within 18 months. Don’t head over to this link here of the job posting, it’s no longer available there now. But it showed the product mentioned was the Xbox brand.
It now looks like the new Xbox could possibly launch in the next 18 months, have a look at the advert below which has now been removed from Microsoft’s website.
Here’s the full job posting courtesy of Video Gamer:
“Over the next eighteen months Microsoft will release new versions of all of our most significant products including Windows (Client, Server, Phone and Azure), Office and Xbox, along with completely new offerings like Microsoft Surface.”
“This wave of product launches will define the course of the company for years to come and thus provides an unprecedented opportunity for us to refresh and evolve our strategic brands. The Microsoft brand strategy team is looking for passionate, creative, team oriented branding experts to help us lead this transformation.”
Of course 18 months means next year. Microsoft have their hands full with Windows 8 official launch and Surface tablet as well. There was a major leak a while back that detailed Microsoft’s game plan for Xbox in the coming years. According to those documents, the next Xbox would be more of a media center that catered to all types of entertainment. While the job posting doesn’t shown off any kind of potential specs and hardware design.
Thanks to the job adverts that proves that Microsoft is already working on the next-generation of widely popular Xbox gaming console. Considering that the Xbox 360 is almost seven years old, it undoubtedly needs an upgrade now. if Microsoft announces that upgrade later this year to deflate the launch of the Wii U, then it could be a big surprise though.
If the Redmond-software based company intend to launch the new Xbox 720 as it could have an impact on the sales of the existing Xbox console.
