Redmond software giant will be announcing a product – called the Lumia 730, a phone that will put a lot of focus on the front-facing camera to take selfies. First teaser for its Nokia Lumia 730 smartphone also showed an orange-themed image that said, “Ready for more” and “Join us for more face time.”
Microsoft has published yet another new teaser invite for its IFA 2014 event, where its expected to showcase its much-anticipated selfie-focused Lumia 730 handset. On its Conversation blog, the company teased with the caption “Ready for #MoreLumia?“, along with a group of selfie of three users.
In addition, the teaser image also states “September 4, 2014 at 10am CET” on the top right corner, with countdown to a live webcast from the Berlin event.
Although in the next couple of days are going to be particularly busy in the mobile world. Along with Apple’s now-confirmed iPhone 6 event on September 9th, there’s a small matter of IFA in Berlin, where several other industry’s foremost vendors will be taking wraps off their newest gadgets. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 to hit first, followed by Microsoft, has already started hyping a brand-new device of its own, and with selfie craze still a popular as it’s ever been, the Lumia 730 pops up with a front-facing sensor.
In July, Microsoft’s rumored selfie-phone was also reportedly shown off at an internal company meeting by Stephen Elop. Phonearena in the other hand claims to have grabbed images of the Lumia 730 Dual SIM as well as what appears to be its single-SIM LTE Variant, the Lumia 735 EG handset.
The Vietnamese retailer last month leaked the rumored Lumia 730 – tipping the handset’s design, pricing and alleged specifications. Now it seems that the device itself will provide standard mid-range fare in terms of hardware, but for photography enthusiasts, seems a very appealing prospect indeed.
It’s clear that the Windows Phone maker is looking to offer a better point-and-shoot-experience to those in ownership of its mid-range devices. Whereas the Lumia 830 expected to offer a 20-megapixel camera (rear), although the details are relatively scarce, the 20MP rear-facing camera would not be a rear aspect for this particular line-up.
According to the leaked specifications, the yet-to-be-announced Lumia 730 is likely to feature a 4.7-inch HD display, powered by a dual-SIM support. The selfie-focused smartphone is expected to be coming with a Snapdragon 400 processor alongside Adreno 305 GPU and paired with 1GB of RAM.
The rumored Lumia 730 would sport a 6.7-megapixel rear camera and would feature a 5-megapixel front-facing camera that will be the highlight. Microsoft would also unveil another device alongside Lumia 730, dubbed Lumia 830 – a 5-inch smartphone that may also be launched at the event.
