The story begins with a title of “Samsung Galaxy S III (S3 GT-i9300) Launcher ported to any ICS ROM“. This one is a launcher that comes with the Galaxy S3, which has been ported by an 13-year old* ranii9990 over at the popular Android development, modders and hacking forums XDA-Developers. According to the developer, it works perfectly great on all Android smartphones running Android’s 4.0 ICS.
The installation procedure is pretty simple. Either you can download the APK and install it as you manually do (after enabling Unknown sources from Settings > Security), munfortunately you won’t be able to use any widgets through that method. In order to use widgets, you must download the APK, manually place it under /system/app using a root explorer like File Expert, change /system permissions to rw –r –r and then install it. The developers suggests going into Settings > Applications to clear data from the said launcher first and proceed.
This launcher has also confirmed to be working fine on the best smartphones like the HTC Sensation, HTC EVO 4G LTE, Sony Xperia Arc S, Motorola Droid, HTC One S ( not AOPK), HTC Rezound , LG Nitro HD, Samsung Captivate, Samsung Galaxy S Plus, Xperia Pro, LG-P990, HTC Desire as well.
