How To Install Cydia On iOS 8 – 8.1 Jailbroken Device [Working]

Although the Chinese jailbreak outfit Pangu released an all-new tool earlier on that highly-anticipated untethered jailbreak of any device running iOS 8 through the latest iOS 8.1. Dues to its fledging, largely unfinished state, though, it still has a number of bugs and limitations, notably that its Windows-only and doesn’t install Cydia by default. However, if there is a will there’s a way, now, here’s how to get Cydia installed and run on your freshly-jailbroken handset. Follow the step-by-step guide to do it so.

Surprised, including Cydia creator Hay Freeman aka Saurik, who couldn’t update Cydia in time. But the good news here is that he has in short period of time, managed to upgrade Cydia support for iOS 8 and iOS 8.1 jailbreak. The .deb file has been pushed to his website for manual download and installation. Handed over to Pangu team, so that, they could release a quick update to Pangu8 jailbreak with Cydia.

* A spare iPhone, iPad or iPod touch jailbroken on iOS 8.0-8.1 using Pangu8. To Jailbreak iOS 8.1 Untethered, here’s our How To Tutorial.

* Aforementioned device should be perfectly backed up.

* A PC or Mac connected to the same Wi-Fi hotspot as your iOS device, Important for SFTPing your Cydia file.

* This process – like the jailbreak, is a little untether and though, it should be noted that things may not run as smoothly as with, say, Pangu for iOS 7.1.x.

Install OpenSHH

First of all download and install OpenSHH.

Step 1: With your iOS device connected to a WiFi network, tap on the Pangu icon on your home screen. Now, tap on the OpenSHH option.

Step 2: Tap on install on the top right-hand corner of the display.

Let the installation process complete before moving forward.

Install Cydia After iOS 8 – 8.1 Jailbreak

Step 1: Back up your device’s content, if you haven’t done it already.

Step 2: Download the latest Cydia .deb file from here. And also download the cydia-Iproj) file from here.

Step 3: Downce .deb files are on yoyr machine. You’ll now need to SFTP the file onto your device. For that, Mac users should opt for Cyberduck, while those on Windows are advised to use WinSCP.

Step 4: Navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi, and find the hotspot that both your device and PC / Mac are connected to. Nexts to the connection’s details, hit the “i” and make note of the IP address.

Step 5: Using the desiganted SFTP client, key in the IP address as well as “root” for username and “alpine” for the password; ignoring the quatations, don’t mind.

Step 6: Once, when the file browser appears, drop the .deb files in the root folder of your device.

Step 7: Be careful. The time has come, where the things gonna tad tricky. Nexts, you’ll be fireing in commands that you may not be familiar with, so ensure to watch closely if you aren’t familiar with this process.

To start an SHH command line session on Windows, hit CTRL + T and on OS X, hit ? + T.

Step 8: Finally, you’ll need to run the command:

dpkg -i cydia-lproj_1.1.12_iphoneos-arm.deb

Now run this command:

dpkg -i cydia_1.1.13_iphoneos-arm.deb

Step 9: Reboot your device.

That’s it, you’re done! Hopefully, the Pangu8 tool will be updated soon and spare users to the meticulous manual process involved here.

Note: Cydia Substrate hasn’t been updated for iOS 8 as yet. No, and don’t expect to run all the favorite jailbreak tweaks which won’t work. Currently!

Update X1: There is another easier way to install this, copy the .debs in /var/root/Media/AutoInstall/. If the folder does not exist, create it. Once done, reboot your device. Cydia should now be there on your screen.

How To Jailbreak iOS 8.1 Untethered Using Pangu8

The Pangu team has released an untethered iOS 8 – 8.1 jailbreak when we expected it and the Chinese group has finally after with the impromptu iOS 7.1.x jailbreak now came with another solution for the all-new iOS 8.x. Remind you again about the newly delivered Pangu8, it works with iOS 8 all the way through to the latest iOS 8.1, and below, we’ll be showing you how to jailbreak your device using the tool.

First off when the last Pangu jailbreak utility hit the scene, it wasn’t completely refined and these steps for information purposes, please do note that you might not be successful at this point in time.

Before jailbreaking starts, it’s important to note:

* Pangu currently does not install Cydia by default, but can be installed manually for iOS 8 until Pangu team updates the tool which bundles the Cydia installer. If SHHing is not concerned, it is best to stay away and wait for Pangu to release updated tool which includes Cydia for iOS 8.x.

* Before jailbreaking, you have to turn off any lock screen passcode or Touch ID (Settings – General – Touch ID & Passcode – turn off Simple Passcode) as well as Find My iPhone (Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone), and naturally, your device will need to have spare storage space in order to run Pangu in the first place.

* Must have an iTunes restored version of iOS 8 / 8.1 installed on your device for the jailbreak scene. If you updated from iOS 7.x to 9.x via OTA, then the jailbreak won’t work. You can now download iOS 8.1 from here, and restore using iTunes.

* Make sure to backup your device completely before proceeding either through iTunes or using iCloud (Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and turn on iCloud Backup).

* You must have iTunes 12.0.1 or later installed on your PC before you can even begin. And, it should also be running in background when the jailbreak process is taking place.

* Suppported devices: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad (2,3,4, Air and Air 2, mini 1, mini 2, mini 3 and iPod touch 5G). No! iPhone 4 isn’t supported either with running iOS 8 or this jailbreak.

* Supported firmwares: 8.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.2, 8.1

The least iOS 8.1 supports this untethered jailbreak. Now, follow our tutorial below.

Note: the tool only works on Windows, OS X version will be out at later date soon.

How to Jailbreak iOS 8 / 8.1 Untethered Using Pangu

Step 1: Download Pangu for Windows from here.

Step 1: Right-click on the Pangu icon and click on Run as Administrator.

Step 3: With Pangu up and running, connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your PC using USB.

Step 4: Click on the chechbox that says PP to uncheck it.

Step 5: Press on this big blue button in the center of the display to begin the jailbreak process. Your device will reboot couple of times during the process so, don’t panic.

Step 6: Once the jailbreaking completes, you’ll see a new Pangu icon on your iOS device’s home screen. It’s there to confirm that the jailbreak was successful.

Saying it again, Pangu won’t install Cydia on your device as yet. We will be showing you another tutorial on how to install Cydia in a seperate guide. Stay tuned.

Resetting Network Settings May Fix iMessage Not Working On iOS 7 [How-to]

Apple’s iMessage introduced to the world with the launch of iOS 5 and on the whole, a great implementation to the iOS foil, but it hasn’t been without issues. Faced numerous cases of spam attacks along with frequent downtime periods and now, with the release of iOS 7, many users have been found that messages are not sending and received properly at all times. How to fix such problems? iMessage is normally doing its job, and if you’d like a smoother, regular service resumed on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, here are some available fixes to get rid of.

Trouble shooting, the first solution literally the best. Turning the device off and then power on agiain is the usual step, sounds a bit obvious, but many user have found that it does quite well and does the trick come true, functioning iMessage returns. Proceeding to the main solution that involves resetting network settings, from where you should try a simple power down to see whether iMessage can fix itself.

Doesn’t worked or confused, check this final steps below:

Step 1: Deactivate iMessage. By heading towards the and navigating to Messages.

Step 2: Now, reset your device’s networking settings by browsing through Settings -> General -> Reset. Notably, this will reset your Wi-Fi hotspots, so you have to go through the rather annoying process of re-entering your saved network keys.

Step 3: Next, repeat Step 1 to re-activate iMessage and lucky enough, you shouldn’t have any more issues.

Final steps are very useful and these kinds of issues are frequent in a new piece of software, and it’s never recommended to drag the Internet for solutions and fixes. Newer updates to iOS should however restore the more unique general user experience, that’s what many trust from a top-most brand company.

Note: Users complaining about reverting to standard SMS when iMessage isn’t working, the Messages app simply continues trying to send via iMessage, in return failing every time. Apple has just released the iOS 7.0.2 version update to fix the Lock Screen bug, but it continues in that as well, and Apple is on the case and working on a fix for iMessage.

Stay tuned to Vsszone for more detailed information on the next release of iOS 7.

How To Install WhatsApp On iPod And iPad Without Jailbreak [VIDEO]

This tutorial might help you in an easy way to get WhatsApp installed on your iPad. WhatsApp is one of the most popular cross-platform messaging service you ever decline it. About WhatsApp, we’ve to take some time to describe and is a fantastic messenger application that launched with seamless integration for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and other smartphones. Now, the catch comes to the scene, and that is, it doesn’t support any other iOS device other than iPhone. Users of iPod and iPad cannot currently download and activate the application, and will be presented with an ugly error if they intend to try. How to get rid of this? Full details are placed below, check them right after the break!

Without Jailbreaking, here is the way of getting WhatsApp to become fully functional on both Apple’s tablet, the iPad and iPod touch music gadget range. Both doesn’t require a jailbreak? Yes, this would be the best thing about this guide. In the past, there was an WhatsApp alternative called “WhatsPad”, but was a Cydia tweak that certainly require a jailbreak. But this way you simply require a computer, and brief access to an iPhone for the activation part of the setup.

I am an iPhone 4s user and not having an iPad or iPod touch, but no worry I borrowed one from my friend and I made this a successfully process. WhatsApp is fully functional on my friends iPad though. One more thing to say is that I had used Windows PC, rather than Mac. Below are the few differences you must follow.

These are the few minor differences between the process depending on a Mac or PC:

* You’ll need to download the specific version of iFunBox for your operating system. Either Mac or Windows. Download it from here:

* On your Mac OS X 10.7 Lion: ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications/
* And if Mac OS X 10.6: ~/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications/

* Now on Windows, the file directory to find the WhatsApp ipa is: C:\Users\Username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications\

How to install WhatsApp on iPad and iPod touch without jailbreaking

Step 1: Open iTunes on your Mac or Windows PC. Download WhatsApp to obtain the .ipa file.

Step 2: Find the file name WhatsApp from the above folder and copy it to Desktop.

Step 3: Download Connect iPad or iPod to the computer and open iFunbox.

Step 4: Click on “iFunbox Classic” and then select ‘Install .IPA app‘. Now select the WhatsApp file which (just copied on Desktop) you want to install on iPad or iPod touch.

Step 5: Once iFunBox shows up a success message, simply disconnect your device. Now, you’ll see you have successfully installed WhatsApp on iPad or iPod. But don’t open it yet until you finish the activation and the link for the activation process is posted below.

This Video tutorial is from Redmondpie:

Here’s how to activate WhatsApp on iPad

Step 1: Now, on your iPhone delete installed WhatsApp messenger. Afterwards install WhatsApp again, open it and activate it using the mobile number that you’ll be using in WhatsApp on your iPod touch and iPad tablet.

Step 2: Connect iPhone to your Computer and open iFunBox. Select “iFunBox Classic” and on the left side menu, clicvk on “Userr Applications” under the iPhone. Now select WhatsApp from the list of applications. Now you’ll find files under WhatsApp, select both “Documents” and Library. Click on ‘Copy To PC’ and save those selected folders to desktop.

Step 3: Disconnect iPhone and once again connect your iPad and iPod touch. Launch iFunBox Classic, and on left side bar, click the User Applications” under the iPhone. Select WhatsApp from the list, and copy the two folders “Documents” and “Library” present on Desktop and simply paste it onto the WhatsApp folder as shown in the screenshot below.

WhatsApp On iPad
Once the both folder are successfully copied into iFunBox, disconnect your iPad and iPod touch. WhatsApp would be activated and ready for use.

Note: If you are jailbroken, then you might be interested in giving WhatsPad for iPad a try. The tweak is free, and also provides an easy way around the process which we’ve outlined above.

Jailbreak iOS 6.1.1 Untethered Using Evasi0n v1.3 [How-To Tutorial]

Evad3rs team has come up with a new jailbreak version tool with a goods for the just-droped iOS 6.1.1. Released rushingly to fix cellular issues pertaining to the iPhone 4S, the Evasi0n jailbreak utility has been updated to deliver the same untethered jailbreak as for iOS 6.0-6.1 on iOS 6.1.1.

A new jailbreak releases, Apple as usual pretty quickly off the mark in releasing a new update to plug the exploiuts which made said jailbreak possible in the first place. But this time around, it looks like as though the 23MB update for iPhone 4S does a little more than its alleged, in fixing a few lingering cellular issues. The jailbreak community has pulled off a universal untethered jailbreak – and yet again, the team behind Evasi0n JB has come out with iOS 6.1.1 (10B145) for iPhone 4S jailbreak tool version 1.3.

Just after releasing the iOS 6.1, Apple has been in rush to seed a fix for iPhone 4S, which caused some device users grief in relation to cellular performance. Promting that the release is 23MB update which should spell an end to any such issues. As an iPhone 4S user, I found that many usually stable was flat lining on a regular basis, but having just moved to iOS 6.1.1, as seems well thus far.

With a tweet sent out earlier by respected jailbreak developer and Evad3rs team member PlanetBeing confirmed that we’d all been hoping was the case – that Apple had not blocked the jailbreak with iOS 6.1.1, and also, that an update to Evasi0n was genuine. As promised, the update has been release, taking Evasi0n to version 1.3, and the jailbreaking process is, thankfully the same, as simple as it was before jailbreak iOS 6.1 in the past.

Apple released 6.1.1 for the 4S only today. The JB still works fine. We will release an updated evasi0n that recognizes it as supported.

Stay tuned and warned about Apple usually responds with an iOS update which patches exploits used for the purpose of a jailbreak, but that was the timing of the Evasi0n tool, it’s likely the Cupertino company has not yet had time to fix or resources to create, test it and release an update. Hoever, that day will soon be arriving – and for all devices, so please ensure do not update your device to any new firmware until a replicate developer states otherwise. In order to retain your jailbreak, follow the below how-to guide.

For those who are on iOS 6.1.1, the updated tool is now available to download for Windows, Mac and Linux users. The bugs present in the initial Evasi0n release seem to have been ironed out, and if you spot any, be sure to report them to the Team Evad3rs so that they can be dealt with accordingly. Now follow out step-by-step tutorial, here’s how simple it is:

Step 1: Download Evasi0n v1.3 [Windows, Mac or Linux]

Step 2: Download iOS 6.1.1 for iPhone 4S.

Step 3: Instructions to jailbreak iOS 6.1.1 with Evasi0n are exactly same as before, check out our complete guide on how to jailbreak iOS 6.1 here for iOS 6.1.1, which assumes no extra knowledge.

That it! Be careful when performing an untethered iPhone 4S on iOS 6.1.1 jailbreak. Share this story on Facebook, Google+ pages and Twitter.

Jailbreak iOS 6.1.1 Untethered Using Redsn0w / Evasi0n [How-To Tutorial]

There was a question in mind that Apple will surely patch the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak with upcoming 6.1.1 firmware and think that the Cupertino has started to block the exploit with the release of iOS 6.1.1 beta 1 to registered developers. Apart that the ongoing cat and mouse battle between Apple and the jailbreak utility scene took a huge swipe in favor of the latter on Monday, with the launch of the Evasi0n jailbreak tool. It’s an untethered in nature, means a better solution for iOS devices to jailbreak, once its applied, users could enjoy an uninterrupted experience. Now with the release of iOS 6.1.1b1 for devs, it was presumed Apple had – as it tends to do with all jailbreaks – patched the hole allowing for the userland exploit and subsequent jailbreak, but they haven’t, though they will likely patch it in the next beta version or at least before iOS 6.1.1 is publicly available.

Are you on iOS 6.1, then, it’s highly advised stay on it, reason it is a public release, and next Evsai0n is officially supported on all iOS devices by Evad3rs still 6.1 only, for now anyway. Here’s a full how-to guide to jailbreak iOS 6.1 untethered any iOS device if you haven’t already.

iOS 6.1.1 is currently on beta stage, and is of course developer seeder. It’s not as though anybody can upgrade by accident, but those Cydia devs looking to test jailbreak tweaks on this initial release of 6.1.1 iOS can now do so by jailbreaking their devices on iOS 6.1.1 using the method posted below. It is only compatible with A4 powered devices (iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4) only.

Here we got the full step by step tutorial. The system involves using Redsn0w to perform a tethered jailbreak, and then changing iOS version number in SystemVersion.plist to trick Cydia’s iOS 6+ untether files to offer an unmanned break on 6.1.1.

What you need:

  • Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 [Windows / Mac]
  • An iPhone 4, 3GS or iPod touch 4 running iOS 6.1.1 beta 1. (from iOS Dev Center)
  • iFile, the jailbreak file exploring tool which can be downloaded via Cydia.
  • The original iOS 6.0 IPSW for your device. You can downlowd iOS 6 from here.

How-to jailbreak iOS 6.1.1 tethered:

Step 1: Connect A4-powered iOS device to your computer.

Step 2: Open Redsn0w, point it to the iOS 6.0 IPSW by hitting “Extras” and then selecting “Select IPSW”, and then hit ‘jailbreak’ from the main window.

Step 3: Once the process is complete, select the iOS 6.0 IPSW once again, and select ‘just Boot’. Your iOS device is now jailbroken tethered and booted up on iOS 6.1.1 beta 1.

Continue to know how to jailbreak iOS 6.1.1 untethered:

Step 4: Now, install OpenSHH and iFile from Cydia, and head over to System/Library/CoreServices.

Step 5: Scroll down to the bottom, tap on SystemVersion.plist, and open with text viewer.

Step 6: In the .plist, look at the information at the bottom of the page in between the <string> </string> tags. It should say ‘6.1.1’. You’ll want to tap the Edit button in the top left-hand corner, and change that string to ‘6.1. Then, click Save, located in the top right-hand corner.

Step 7: Navigate to Cydia, locate evasi0n 6.0-6.1 untether, and install it. After a reboot, your device be untethered on iOS 6.1.1 beta 1.  Either way, you can also install the untether manually using Evasi0n’s .deb file in iFile.

Once you’re all done, repeat steps 4 through 6 and change the version number back to 6.1.1 from 6.1.

Reminded once again, it’s important to note that further down the line of iOS 6.1.1 betas, Apple will surely call time on Evasi0n exploit. Apple to sourse and prevent the exploit will once more time be looking to make it as difficult as possible for the likes of the Evad3rs team to infiltrate, which that Evasi0n iOS 6.x jailbreak fully untethered did take almost five months this time around. How To Install Windows 8 App Store Apps On Different Drive Location

My first PC in the past only had a 40GB hard drive which could be considered more than enough to be able to fill up. Today, depending on type of usage that we have, a 250GB which seems insufficient. Now, the storage media in themselves have evolved a lot, both in terms of technology and form factor. Pen drives sporting capacity with up to 250 gigabytes of storage are not uncommon, higher capacity SD cards are mainstream, and lately, even SSD drives have come down to a minimum level where almost everyone can afford them in their laptops, PCs, etc, taking advantage of the much-faster read/write speeds to the fullest.

The big issues with SSDs is that they become statistical costly, as the storage capacity increases. While having a smaller SSD, on the other hand, is having it get filled up in minutes. Under Windows 8, it’s specifically preferable to have a combination of an SSD along side a traditional SATA hard disk to take full advantage of running the OS from a faster SSD, and getting as much storage as you need for your files, music, photos, data, videos and applications, from the standard Hard Disk Drive (HDD). EDventually, the problem arises with Modern UI (Metro) apps, which follow a default installtion path under Windows’ own Program Files folder, and if already installed OS on your SSD, they may start eating up your storage space faster than you’d expected.

Metro app

Actually, booting Windows 8 OS needs almost 15GB of hard drive space and where as Windows 7 of 12GB and Windows XP only needs 800MB of storage C Drive space.

Today, we’re here to guide you on how to move Modern UI Apps in Windows 8 to another location on your HDD instead of the SSD, making exra space available in the root OS drive.

Essentially, the guide follows the premise that you have installed everyting as its default location, that your Windows 8 is installed on the SSD, and you want to move the apps to the D: drive on your SATA disk drive. The method that we’re going to achieve this requires use of symbolic links, whereas your actual Apps folder will be moved to the other drive location, and a system link (symlink) will be created in place in the C: drive to maintain referencing.

Step 1: Make sure no Modern Apps are running on your machine. You may reboot the system and then do it before running anything else. With Administrator rights (ownership), launch an elevated command prompt.

Step 2: Run the following command to take ownership of the WindowsApps folder (this is where Modern UI apps are installed by default).

takeown /F “C:\Program Files\WindowsApps” /A /R

Step 3: The directory now requires to be copied to the new target location, which let us say to be D:\WindowsApps. Run the following in Command Prompt:

robocopyC:\Program Files\WindowsApps” “D:\WindowsApps” /E /COPYALL /DCOPY:DAT

Make sure that the copy action was successfully and there were no errors or failure messages. If seen those, just reboot the machine and start again.

Step 4: Now, you want to remove the original folder from C:\ drive using the command below:

rmdir /S “C:\Program Files\WindowsApps

Step 5: Finally, create rthe symlink:

mklink /D “C:\Program Files\WindowsApps” “D:\WindowsApps

Completed, now you can launch any Modern UI Windows 8 app to verify that it works perfectly.

In case if you don’t want to play around with any of this, or if you feel uncomfortable typing in commands, you can manually move the WindowsApps folder from Program files to a target location of your desired choice and then change a registery entry to reflect that. It’s advised that this will only work if there’s no Metro App installed on your PC.

In registry editor, go to:

and change the location to the new one (e.g., D:\WindowsApps). Reboot the computer afterwards.

How To Change The Carrier Logo On Your iPhone And iPad With No Jailbreak Required

It was possible with Cydia tweak called Zeppelin that allowed jailbroken users to show any custom logo or a string of accurate text as carrier logo for years. How, you can find out below by following some affordable steps on how to change the carrier logo on any iPhone or iPad without jailbreaking.

* The free of cost CarrierEditor software.
* Any Cellular based iOS device.

Note: If you’re an OS X user, you will be able to grab the downloadbale link, since that the software is currently only available for the Mac machines and it doesn’t look likely that a Windows version will be released anytime soon.

Step 1: Download and run the CarrierEditor application (Mac OS X download link).

Step 2: Select ther Let’s Get Started option from the bottom of the CarrierEditor interface.

Step 3: The software will intruct you about the device info that you wish to cahnge the carrier logo. A guide is given on the interface but users will need to go to Settings -> General -> About on their iOS device to obtain the Carrier Version Number of their hardware. Enter the information into the far provided box and select Next.

Step 4: On the Carrier information page, you got to see two drop down boxes. CarrierEditor will then ask for addition information under the Carrier Information header. Input the device type (iPhone, iPad etc) before selecting the carrier that the device is related to (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile etc). Select Next.

Note that it must be a cellular enabled iPad, if you’re doing this for an iPad, and this doesn’t work for WiFi only iPads or the iPod touch.

Step 5: The next stage is to actually select the carrier logo that you want to be on your device. The CarrierEditor downloaded DMG file actually comes with a number of pre-created options that one can use. Either way you also use a file that you have created yourself or one that has been previously created for use with another app like Zeppelin in Cydia. CarrierEditor comes bundled with ten different Zeppelin carrier logos. Open the ZeppelinLogos folder from the mounted image, and select the folder that contains the carrier logo you want to use. Drag and drop the image file into the provided box before selecting Compile Carrier Update (.ipcc).

Step 6: Now the software will work its magical gesture and dump a .ipcc file on the computer desktop. Once the logo is compiled, CarrierEditor will save both the original and the custom logo to your desktop. Select the How to Install the Custom Carrier Update option.

Step 7: The process requires  a manual restore through iTunes. Make sure the iOS device is plugged into a Mac, open iTunes before holding down the Option key on the computer and clicking the Restore iPhone (or Restore iPad) option in iTunes. A Finder box should open up. Navigate to your desktop where the logo was saved, and select your custom .ipcc carrier file (not the one labeled original) and click open. You will see your carrier logo change on your device, and if don’t see t changed, just make a reboot your device. Finally it will appear as a new carrier logo on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with an ease.

Step 8: If you want to revert back to the original carrier logo, just repeat the step 7, but this time select the .ipcc file labeled original, and then respring (reboot) your device if no changes occur. When iTunes has finished simply reboot the connected device to take full advantage of the new carrier logo.
