As you all know that Apple has released an upgraded version of iOS 6 beta 1 firmware for the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV, but only made available to update on developers who are registered members of Apple’s iOS Dev Program. As this a beta release and not an official publicly made we recommend all the iOS device owners to stay away from this updating procedure. Reason as you know that this iOS 6b1 is unstable, with having full of bugs and you can face some issues after upgrading and not advised if you aren’t a registered Apple developer with an UDID.

We have already published a post on how developers can download and install the latest version of iOS 6 beta on their iPhone, iPad and iPod touches using their UDID account. But, some of my friends asked me to push a tutorial on how to upgrade iOS 6 beta 1 on their iOS devices without needing developers account. So, i decided to write an article on this.

How To Update iOS 6 beta 1 on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch without UDID

Step 1: Download iOS 6 beta 1 firmware, that we cannot provide it for you as it would be illegal, but you can find a friend having an developer account or you can (Google it) or have to become a developer which costs $99 per year.

Step 2: Next! you have to backup and restore your iOS device to the stock iOS 5.1 or 5.1.1 IPSW. Reason, this method includes up-gradation to iOS 6 beta without a registered UDID involves updating your jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with content is not advised.

Step 3: Download and install the latest iTunes 10.6.3.

Step 4: Assuming that you have perfectly running the latest iTunes version you will now need to connect your device to computer and update it to the latest iOS firmware.

* Windows users: By pressing Shift+Update and Mac users Option+Update and select the downloaded iOS 6 beta 1 file (note: we aren’t restoring but updating).
