Apple rushes out with the release of an iOS update for iPhone 4S users to fix users 3G connection. Just after releasing iOS 6.1, Apple on Monday issued a new software update 6.1.1 to address serious bugs.
The iOS 6.1.1 update really came out – but only available for the iPhone 4S at the clear moment, which is mainly a response to Vodafphone’s public warnings dissuading iPhone 4S users on its network from updating their smartphones. Users of Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod touch could be set to receive a new iOS update for their devices, and the company is working on an update that it hopes will eradicate some of the bare issues that have cropped up with the recent iOS 6.1 release.
The latest update for the mobile operating system, iOS 6.1.1, has just been pushed out for iPhone 4S only, downloaded right now.
With a surprise quick release comes on the heels of a developer seed last week, along with connectivity issues that were detected in 6.1, iOS affecting primarily business costomers who rely deeply on Microsoft Exchange. Apple has clearly fast-tracked the release of iOS 6.1.1 in order to deliver it in a timely way.
The official changelog of iOS 6.1.1 10B145 is as follows:
“fixes an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S.”
First beta of iOS 6.1.1 which was seeded to devs last week included great enhancements to the Mapos app, more targeting Japanese languages: 3D views for major buildings in the country, such as Tokyo Station, Japan Imperial Palace and Tokyo Tower, were added to the perforamnce for users in Japan and lot more of improvements to turn-by-turn directions were also added. Like improved pronunciation of the names of streets, indication of upcoming tolls, along with other minor changes aimed at making the app more accurate and reliable.
When the Apple seeded iOS 6.1.1 beta 1, some thought that the revamped iOS 6 was cretisized by many users of the OS for replacing Google Maps with Apple’s own solution, leading to inaccuracies and other problems that have slowly been fixed in the past few months. However, these Maps changes are apparently not included to the build released for iPhone 4S today, Apple would likely push out 6.1.2 for 6.2 with all these changes for all iOS devices soon.
Being an iPhone 4S owner, you can download iOS 6.1.1 right away, either over the air (OTA) from your device or through iTunes.
If you have been fighting to send text messages or connecting to your network ever since you installed the iOS 6.1 update, which the carrier warned that iPhone 4S users might not be able to make or receive calls or SMS if they updated. Using Microsoft Exchange regularly, this is finally ment for. Those who relying on Evasi0n jailbreak might just have to wait for Evad3rs to confirm whether this iOS 6.1.1 patches the exploit or not.
