There are jailbreak apps (tweaks) that replace iOS App Switcher. Auxo is yet another best Cydia tweak that adds a new preview of the recently viewed apps after replacing the App Switcher, which although displays a snapshot of the current state of the application rather than a small square icon.
What is Auxo for iPhone? It is a multitasking Switcher concept brought to life with a beautiful UI and amazing functionality, accurate to say that most iOS users who make use of a jailbroken device have been paying attentioin to the progress of a particular multitasking tweak. Auxo was brought to life by the dev team, since the Cydia pacakge been given the name Auxo. Now it is available in Cydia as an initial release, with the hope of becoming the accepted method of handling multitasking on iOS devices by re-designing the controls that are contained within the switcher, enhancing the aesthetics and presentation.
A3tweaks has just released an updated version 1.3.4-1 to Auxo tweak for the iPhone and iPad at BigBoss repo. Auxo replaces the standard icon view with versatile app cards. Along with being able to preview each app, you can also swipe them down to remove. You can even remove more than one app by using multiple fingers!
Well! There are number of packages arrived into Cydia that make an attempt to handle multitasking in the way a particular developer thinks it should be implemented. Auxo in the other hand received happy when it landed in the mobile space as a concept design and it’s pretty fair to say that the developers behind breathing life into the pixels have done a great job, given the relatively short timescales that have passed since it first landed into the public eye.
Auxo v1.3.4-1 update includes full support for iOS 6.0/6.1.x, mostly includes improvements, minor bug fixes and addresses primary culprit causing crashes.
What actually makes Auxo beautiful? That brings a new way of visualizing apps that are currently being held in the multitasking switcher tray. While the old icons are replaced with awesome card-based representations of the background apps. Just by pressing and hold on each icon to delete from the tray, the user now have the ability of invoking a simple downward swipe gesture to remove that app from memory and take it out of the equation.
Interesting thing about the new Auxo version would be the playback page, that has redesigned to provide improved audio controls and handling of music on the device, and also provide additional information to the user that includes the option to tap on the currently playing album artwork to get a full-sized version of the image.
Auxo Cydia tweak has various toggles that are included in the switcher, which will help user from having to go to the Settings app for most things. Access to Bluetooth, data services, orientation lock and WiFi are all easily manageable.
In other words, Auxo is said to be the best switcher replacement app that we have seen to date. Supported devices are iPhone 5/4S and iPhone 4, iPad 2/3 and iPad 4 and iPod touch 4G to iPod touch 5G, if there are all jailbroken on iOS 6.0 or iOS 6.1.2.
Auxo 1.3.4-1 Cydia tweak is available as a $1.99 download from the BigBoss repository and requires a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch.
