Rovio’s most popular and spacious gameplay for the desktop and on the iOS, Android and other tablets made Angry Birds Space hit 100 million downloads so quickly, and became the fastest selling mobile game of all time. With the hype and top ratings of its space game, Rovio with its Finnish game studio, which expanded recently with the physics-based Amazing Alex, has announced the next Angry Birds Space game, Red Planet, will be released this fall. Details after this jump!
Comparing back in May, the franchise hit a benchmark with the 1 billionth Angry Birds download. The current Angry Birds Space is 99 cents at the Google Pay Store and in the Apple App Store. While we can’t tell from the teaser trailer just what will be different, you can expect more high-flying, gravity-defying bird-pig hijinks. But judging by the bird’s shadow we get a glimpse of in the video, we get the feeling that it’s going to be more birds-flying-at-pigs action.
But it said the Angry Birds Space: Red Planet would be featuring some changed colors for its pigs and Birds as well. Last month Rovio announced that they will be offering a new game that will allow players to play as the pigs. Until then watch the teaser video of the new Angry Birds Space: Red Planet with Angry birds and lovely pigs below:
The game is expected to be out before the holidays and you will most likely be defending the eggs stolen from the birds by launching the pigs into the air to stop the birds. But until then, you can find the current version of Angry Birds Space in the App Store for $.99. Angry Birds Space: Red Planet is expected to land on iOS sometime this fall.
