Whole world hands-on with iOS devices running 5.1.1 are waiting for this, earlier today Pod2g tweeted in his Twitter account to confirm the untethered jailbreak launch for devices running the iOS 5.1.1 is in final stages now and released in the coming days. Unfortunately no ETA was given though, for the latest iteration of its Ujailbreak exploit.

Within no time after confirming the name of the upcoming 5.1.1 jailbreak tool, the pod2g’s jailbreak team member and hacker Xvolks has came up by pushing an untether in action on a video using an updated version of the tool which gained lots of fame and attraction a few months back, Absinthe launched for A5 chip UJB.

Absinthe is the same tool released back in January this year, and is currently working tool which can successfully untether iPhone 4S and iPad 2 running on the iOS 5.0.1 or earlier version firmware.

iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak Nearly Ready For Release in the form of Absinthe 2.0

Since the Apple released the iOS 5.1.1, many jailbreaking community teams were working hard to produce the most awaited release of untethered jailbreak. Now that’s coming true, after seeing the video below, you can find out that the Absinthe 2.0 is pretty much carbon copy of the original Greenpois0n’s Absinthe tool. While the Xvolks himself points that the jailbreak works flawlessly on the iPhone 4, the GSM version at least.

Watch the video posted by the Xvolks on Twitter a while back, which shows off the GSM version of the iPhone 4 being successfully pwned on iOS 5.1.1.

The real catch is the video shown above was only performed with the older A4 device, but not on the A5 processor iDevices like the iPhone 4S. So, also its worth nothing that this iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak will not going to support all iOS devices when it’s launched to public availability. Below is the check list of the devices supported by the upcoming jailbreak:
